* Extended care will be available M-F 3:30 pm-6 pm for $220 per term

* There will be a 30 min. supervised transition time between 3-3:30 pm included in the price of your classes

 
Amazing World of Fish and Reptiles

Grades: K - 3rd

Term 2, 12 pm - 3 pm

Explore the amazing world of reptiles, fish, frogs, & other animals. Students will learn from our live animals through writing, art, reading, & film.


Art Explorations 

Grades: 1st - 3rd

Term 2, 12 pm - 3 pm

Students will learn about the most popular artists and their techniques. Students will be able to create their own art work that resembles those of great artists.

Basketball Camp 

Grades: 4th - 8th

Terms 1 & 2, 12 pm - 3 pm                                                                              

Learn and improve your game. Play on teams & compete in free throw, hot shot, & layup contests as well as Friday team tournaments. Boys & girls of all skill levels are welcome. Please note that basketball activities will take place on outside courts, with some classroom activities held indoors. 

Beyond the Book Report in the Digital Age

Grades: 4th - 8th 

Terms 1 & 2, 8:30 am - 11:30 am 

Work on new ways to express your thoughts, questions, and feelings about what you read. You will have an opportunity to get started on your summer reading assignment!

CGI Math - K to 1st

Grades: K-1st

Terms 1 & 2, 12 pm - 3 pm                                                                

Students will solve mathematical problems using their own thinking and strategies. Story problems, math warm-ups and math games will be introduced, and students will share their strategies with the class and in small groups. Math tools to solve problems will be provided, and students will discuss the various ways to use these tools. CGI Math is Common Core aligned and is approved by the CCUSD Board of Education as a best practice.

Chinese Language & Culture

Grades: K - 3rd 

Terms 1 & 2, 8:30 am - 11:30 am                        

Learn to communicate/speak in Mandarin and read basic Chinese characters while singing, counting, playing games, and doing art projects. Little or no prior knowledge of Chinese required.

Clay Animal Kingdom

Grades: K - 3rd

Term 1, 12 pm - 3 pm      

As the title suggests, this brand new class will integrate science and art for a hands on, tactile, experience. Students will learn about lions and tigers and bears...oh my...and reptiles, too! Students will create animals out of clay, paint them, and read, write and even sing about animals and their habitats and environment.


Clown College

Grades: 4th - 8th

Term 2, 8:30 am - 11:30 am                                                         

This class will cover the basics of clowning, including skits, magic, juggling, props, balloons, make-up, costumes and general silliness. There will be a fun-filled performance on the last day of class.


Creative Arts & Crafts

Grades: K - 3rd

Terms 1 & 2, 8:30 am - 11:30 am                                     

Enjoy a variety of arts and crafts including basket making, collages, crafts with recycled materials, painting and much more.

Football Camp

Grades: 4th - 8th

Term 1, 8:30 am - 11:30 am                                                       

Learn the fundamentals of football and improve your skills all while having fun playing the game. 


Hip Hop

Grades: K - 3rd 

Terms 1 & 2 - 8:30 am - 11:30 am                                  

Students will learn hip hop routines and choreography set to popular music. There will be a fun-filled performance on the last day of class.

I Can Cook!

Grades: 4th - 8th 

Term 1, 8:30 am - 11:30 am; 

Term 2, 12 pm - 3 pm                   

Learn & perform the preparation & cooking of a variety of foods from around the corner and around the world. Students will also learn about nutrition, & the class will include a variety of games & more.

Intro to Coding and Computer Science

Grades: 4th - 8th, 

Term 1, 12 pm - 3 pm           

Learn coding visually using internet-based applications.  Develop programming skills and problem-solving techniques. Students will create and work on various projects, including animation, games, digital arts, and other activities.

It’s Not Magic, It’s Science

Grades: 4th - 8th

Terms 1 & 2, 8:30 am - 11:30 am          

 Learn how to do really cool science "tricks" that seem like magic, while learning the science behind them. Projects include slime, volcanoes and other illuminating, enlightening and enjoyable activities. Students will be able to replicate the science tricks learned in class & perform them for their families.

Japanese Immersion - Kindergarten

Grade: Kindergarten 

Terms 1 & 2, 8:30 am - 11:30 am                      

K students will learn Japanese language and culture through activities such as writing, arts and crafts, songs, stories, plays, numbers, colors and science games; no prior Japanese knowledge necessary.

Students will build on the Japanese they have learned in their immersion program, and must know enough Hiragana and vocabulary to communicate in the classroom.

Jr. Robotics

Students will dive into the world of robotics and explore how programming and robotic design can solve real-world problems. In this course grades K-3 will design, build, and program robots to complete fun challenges using a number of grade-level appropriate robot kits.

Let’s Clay! - K to 1st

Let's Clay! Join this fun clay art class for grades K-1st. Make pottery, statues, plates, and whatever your imagination can create. We will also paint and air dry our artwork.

Lifecycles & Ecosystems (Bilingual English/Spanish)

Grades: 1st - 3rd

Term 1, 12 pm - 3 pm   

Explore the world’s ecosystems and animal life cycles in English and Spanish through PREZI presentations, media, art, reading, and writing assignments. This class will prepare students for science in 1st & 2nd grade (animal life cycle and adaptations) and 3rd grade (biomes of the world).

Math for the Real World

Grades: 4th - 8th

Terms 1 & 2, 8:30 am - 11:30 am                

This class will explore how mathematical concepts are used in the "real" world, in practices such as the arts, architecture, physics and technology. All levels of math learners are welcome to join this hands on, interactive, class.

On the Road to Kindergarten

Grades: Pre-K - Kindergarten

Terms 1 & 2, 12 pm - 3 pm       

Literacy, math, fine motor, social-emotional, and safety and self-help competency are 5 pre-academic skills needed to be successful in kindergarten.  With games, music, storytelling and hands-on activities, watch your child's excitement build!

Photography

Grades: 4th - 8th

Terms 1 & 2, 12 pm - 3 pm                      

Learn photography & create your own portfolio by creating, manipulating, & combining digital images. Students must bring their own digital camera or smart phone.

Reading, Writing, Singing and Painting

Grades: 1st - 3rd

Terms 1 & 2, 8:30 am - 11:30 am   

Explore the fun of English Language Arts through the integration of art & music. Students will have fun reading & creating written projects that incorporate song & paint.

Robotics

Grades: 4th - 8th

Term 1, 12 pm - 3 pm                                  

Students grades 4-8 will work with more advanced robots that can be coded and programmed to solve real-world problems. Concepts of science, technology, engineering, and math will be explored as students collaborate to complete fun challenges.

Soccer

Grades: 4th - 8th

If you love to play soccer then join us this summer to improve your skills and learn new tricks. Soccer cleats are required.

Explore art through Superheroes and Fantasy using mixed media including painting, drawing, oil pastels and markers.

Team Sports - K to 1st

Our Team Sports classes feature opportunities for team building, skill building, conflict resolution and sportsmanship through participation in a variety of sports, such as:  soccer, basketball, flag football, kickball and other no-contact team sports. Learn the rules of the game, strategies for winning and losing, and enjoy making new friendships through icebreakers and team-oriented games.

World Arts & Cultures

Grades: 4th - 8th

Term 1, 12 pm - 3 pm                     

Please join us for the second year of this brand new class. Students will be guided through a hands-on journey of the culture, language, arts, architecture and cuisine of Spanish and, French speaking countries as well as other destinations from Japan to Germany and all around the world.  This class will be a perfect introduction to the study of World Language later in high school - a requirement for both high school diploma acquisition and college admission

Young Writer’s Workshop - 2nd to 3rd

Grades: 2nd-3rd

Terms 1 & 2, 8:30am-11:30am           

Explore the imaginative world of creative writing while practicing the writing skills you have learned in school. Students will create a portfolio of their work by the end of the session.
