On August 27, 2025: Salinas Valley Adult Education Consortium (SVAEC) is hosting a free immigration consultations and Ven al Cafe con Pan. All are welcome to attend the series on topics selected by the SVAEC Student council. Among the topics, Free Immigration consultations by Immigration Attorney Armida Mendoza and Lorena Vargas. The Presentation will be in Spanish for the first hour and the second hour will be in English if needed. Ven Al Cafe Con Pan is inspired by the SVAEC Student Council. On August 25, 2025: Welcome back, students! Dr. Cardenas (Principal) kicked off preparations for the school year last week with a Superhero Bootcamp, rallying teachers and support staff under the motto: “Capes On, Keys Out – Unlocking Heroic Hopes.” Special guest, Superintendent Dr. Alfonso Jimenez (our Hero-in-Chief) delivered an inspiring welcome as we embark on our shared mission. Together, we’re committed to making this year a legendary adventure for our league of learners at CCAS. On June 23, 2025: Registration for Fall classes is now open online for returning Culver City Adult School students. New students to our school may register online for Fall classes starting August 4th. We look forward to opening our doors for the Fall term, which begins on August 25, 2025.
On July 22, 2025: The Venice Skills Center is nearby and offers low- and no-cost Career & Technical Training. Please take a look at two new offerings that may be of interest to you in the area of child development and digital media and design. Classes will fill up fast, so register without delay for these opportunities that begin in August.

On May 2, 2025: CCAS welcomes West Los Angeles College (WLAC) Instructor, Dr. Ricardo Hooper, to the team! Dr. Hooper is teaching a 5-week non-credit college course at our school that includes: Academic Guidance; Introduction to College; and Computer Literacy. The last day to register for the course is May 9th and the classes take place on Fridays, May 2nd-June 6th, from 9:00 - 11:30 a.m.
On April 30, 2025: LARC is hosting a career fair at West Los Angeles College, Thursday May 1st. Meet recruiters face-to-face, showcase your skills, and engage in potential on-site interviews.
On April 26, 2025: Students in the Culver City Adult School’s Medical Assistant program had their final practicum day. They completed a final exam and continued to practice skills (injections, skin punctures, injections, and venipunctures) at stations under the supervision of SCROC staff. Students received certificates for completing the 4-day hands-on practicum that prepared them for success in a role as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. Next step…the National Certification Exam! Thank you, students, for your strong focus!

On Saturday, March 8, 2025, Culver City Adult School Medical Assistant students participated in the first of four hands-on practicum days at SoCal Regional Occupational Center (SCROC). They practiced essential clinical skills such as proper hand washing techniques, correct use of gloves, and accurate measurement of vital signs. Throughout the practicum, students engaged in interactive partner activities, observed instructor-led demonstrations, and attended informative lectures with detailed explanations. By actively applying their skills in a controlled environment, students gain valuable experience that will help them prepare for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) national certification exam, ensuring they meet industry standards for competency and professionalism. CCAS thanks our partners at SCROC for sharing their pristine facilities and experienced instructors as we prepare future healthcare professionals!
On March 7, 2025, Culver City Adult School Medical Assistant students gathered for a special lunch and medical kit distribution sponsored and hosted by the local Culver City Rotary Club. The Rotarians selected CCAS’s Medical Assistant program for a $3,000 district vocational grant and purchased supplies for all program students. Students will use the supplies during four 6-hour practicum days at So Cal Regional Occupational Center where they will gain nursing practical experience. Rotarian Carmela Raack congratulated students and reminded them that life is comprised of family, service, and one’s profession, and that they selected a profession that is service-oriented by choosing healthcare. Mrs. Raack also shared the inspirational quote, “Do all you can and then do a little more,” to encourage students along their educational, career-focused journey. Thank you, Culver City Rotarians for your generosity and ongoing support!
On February 28, 2025, Culver City Adult School hosted an orientation for their Medical Assistant students in preparation for 4 practicum days at SoCal Regional Occupational Center (SCROC). CMA Program Director Norlean Cedeno and Melissa Moore (CMA Instructor) from SCROC provided practicum details for students and CCAS Medical Assistant Support Instructor Richard Perkins. CCAS Principal Dr. Cardenas and AP Ian McCullen encouraged students to continue on their path to complete their coursework to be able to serve in the community as Medical Assistants soon.
FREE Community Event on Friday, February 28th, 4-7 PM: In celebration of Black History Month, Culver City Middle School is showcasing local Black-owned businesses. Enjoy tasty food, jazz music from the CCMS Band/Orchestra, and shopping at various booths. Bring your whole family.
